Children add a whole new dynamic to a family. For a couple having their first baby it means having to rearrange almost everything including their mode of transportation. A two-door car that was once hot and stylish becomes frustrating and tedious when you are trying to put a baby in the back seat. A mini-van is a sign of the times and a signal that a family is on board. If you’ve got a baby in that mini-van you should also have a car seat organizer.

Those of us who are already parents know what it takes to get a baby from point A to point B. It takes much more than dressing them in appropriate clothing for the weather, strapping them in the car and heading off. It also involves packing enough diapers, bottles, wipes and clothing. With a car seat organizer much of the baby’s stuff is within easy reach for mom and dad.

These handy devices come in differing sizes and shapes depending on what you are using it for. In the case of an infant you want a car seat organizer that has a spot for a bottle, a toy and maybe some wet wipes in the case of an accident. For a toddler a car seat organizer should be large enough to hold a small juice box, some picture books and maybe a plastic container filled with a snack.

 Bit of History
Strange and predatory and truly dangerous, car thieves and muggers—they seem to jeopardize all our cherished concepts, even our self-esteem, our property rights, our powers of love, our laws and pleasures. The only relationship we seem to have with them is scorn or bewilderment, but they belong somewhere on the dark prairies of a country that is in the throes of self-discovery.
—John Cheever (1912–1982)

Adults will find them useful as well. I have one in my car that I keep many different things in. Loose change, pens and a pad of paper all sit in my car seat organizer. I also have a plastic bag in there in case I need to carry something or I want to clear the trash out of the car. A soda can will fit perfectly in the car seat organizer I have so I don’t have to worry about it falling over and spilling while I’m driving.

Some cars come with them when you first purchase the car. They may be an added option in certain vehicles so if you don’t happen to have one already in your car or truck it’s not hard to get one. They are readily available at many car supply stores as well as discount department stores. Measure the area where you want it to go so you can choose the one that fits the best.

They do come in different colors but it’s wise to purchase one in a dark color. Black or dark grey will usually match with the interior of almost any car and if you happen to spill a bit on the car seat organizer it’s not going to be as noticeable as it would be if you had a lighter color. Overall they are a great addition for any family vehicle. After all anything that helps a mom or a dad stay organized is perfect.
