The old saying that the older you get the faster time goes by is very true. Each year seems to go faster and faster. I still remember a great deal about my high school years, especially the year I was a senior. I could not believe when I received the announcement for my thirty year class reunion. I cannot believe that I am past thirty, let alone out of high school for that many years. Along with the invitation came a questionnaire to fill out about what we had been doing over the past thirty years. The committee that was organizing the reunion was going to compile the information that was sent back into a booklet that everyone that attended the reunion would get a copy of.

I have stayed in touch with one friend from high school through the years. I called her to see if she was going to go to the reunion. We discussed this and decided that we would go together. We would not put our husbands through the ordeal of trying to look interested as we caught up with old classmates.

 Bit of History
I think that cars today are almost the exact equivalent of the great Gothic cathedrals: I mean the supreme creation of an era, conceived with passion by unknown artists, and consumed in image if not in usage by a whole population which appropriates them as a purely magical object.
—Roland Barthes (1915–1980)

When we arrived at the reunion we were given name tags and a copy of the booklet updating us on our classmates. There were a few people we were very interested in looking up. We found a nice place at the end of the bar where we could watch people come in and see who we could recognize. One very distinguished man walked in dressed in a very nice suit. We assumed he was the spouse of one of our classmates. We could not read his name tag from where we were sitting and as time passed it was obvious that he was alone. We asked another person who it was. He said that it was one of our classmates. He had been very quiet in school and always covered in grease. He had gotten into antique car sales after high school and was very successful. He was always covered in grease because he loved working on cars. I knew that he had become a mechanic but I did not know that he had anything to do with antique car sales. As the evening went on I had the opportunity to talk with him. He said that his grandfather had owned several antique cars. He had taken special courses to learn how to work on them. He then started fixing up other people’s older cars and then selling them. This mushroomed into one of the largest antique car sales in the state. He has never married and spends a great deal of time traveling looking for antique cars. He was the biggest surprise of anyone at the reunion.

Best Gas Mileage Suv
By Francine Ortega
If there's one thing I've noticed about technology, it's that cell phones continue to get smaller, but SUVs bigger. Why do you suppose this is? Now, I can grasp the handiness of a compact mobile phone, but why do sport utility vehicles have to be so large? Are American families really that big? Not from what I've seen....
