Auto Air Conditioning Repair

Auto air conditioning repair seems to be getting more and more difficult. There are a handful of individuals with the skill and know-how to take on this task but they seem to be a dying breed. Our options when it comes to auto air conditioning repair appear to be quite limited.

I discovered the recent lack of service stations that address the problem of air conditioners that have gone caput when my car’s cooling system died. I immediately visited my most trusted auto mechanic only to discover that he no longer took on auto air conditioning repair jobs.

This came as a complete shock because this well-known and very reputable mechanic is known as a master in every aspect of car and truck repair. His company is riddled with many vehicles that have problems in the morning. By the time his garage closes, the vehicles are repaired unless they are waiting for parts.

How could this talented mechanic not know the ins and outs of auto air conditioning repair? After all, the local school busing company, the police and just about everyone who knows Mr. Smith goes to him for all of their vehicle repair needs. This includes tires, windshield wipers and even the occasional auto accessory.

 Quote of the Day
Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain—at least in a poor country like Russia—and his vanity begins to swell out like his tyres. In America it takes an automobile to produce this effect.
—Leon Trotsky (1879–1940)

Of course, I couldn’t hide my surprise or my disappointment. It was July and it was also pretty hot. I had a feeling that it wasn’t about to get cool anytime soon. Mr. Smith explained that the problem lies in the coolant systems and the Freon used in them. I guess that auto air conditioning repair is quite tricky and there are many standards for getting rid of the extra Freon.

Or something like that. I really didn’t get the entire story because I was too caught up in trying to figure out where I could take my hot, black car with scorching black leather interior for auto air conditioning repair. I wasn’t really following the conversation at hand. I really wanted to get my vehicle cooled off as soon as possible.

My favorite mechanic wasn’t able to deliver but he did suggest that taking the hot vehicle to the dealership where it was purchased was my best bet. I really felt like a traitor especially since my unwavering loyalty to Mr. Smith’s Garage was so strong.

However, when it comes to staying cool in the car, I would go to another mechanic who worked with auto air conditioning repair in a flash, a hot flash.
